Livingston Bicentennial 5K Run for Health & Wellness
October 20, 2013Fun and Run, something for everyone! The Big ‘L’ Club, the Livingston Education Foundation (LEF), the West Essex YMCA and the Livingston Bicentennial Historical Committee are partnering for this multigenerational event. Featured are Fitness Fun activities set-up and manned by Livingston Public Schools Physical Education Teachers and the West Essex YMCA, a 1-Mile Run/Walk, a 5-K Run certified by the US Track and Field of NJ and booths providing information about health/ wellness and health and wellness products as well as a DJ, prizes and give-aways! Once again, we are happy to be joined by The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) who will run fun-filled activities for participants with special needs. Schedule of Events (events and times subject to change)8:00 a.m. Registration Opens 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Children's Races & Special Events, DJ, Prizes and Give-Aways 11:00 a.m. 1 mile fun run/walk around the LHS Track 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. 5K run (ages 13 and up) - starting in front of LHS 10:30 a.m. 5K Run Awards Ceremony 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Health & Wellness Fair - Recreational and Healthy Services Vendors, Information and Screenings Proceeds will be divided and go to benefit the individual initiatives of each organization:- LEF funds will be used to support Technology for the 21st Century Classroom.
- The Big L Club will purchase equipment for the Livingston High School Fitness and Wellness Center.
- The YMCA will provide scholarships through their Strong Kids Campaign.
