The end-of-year festivities and events are quickly approaching! This is an exciting time for our students and families, so please read the important updates below carefully.

The PTA recently shared information about the upcoming Mural Project, an exciting initiative that brings together the entire Harrison School community. We are thrilled to partner with renowned muralist Caren Olmsted to transform our main hallway into a vibrant celebration of community spirit. Every student will have the opportunity to participate during the school day, but the scale of the project requires strong parent support. This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and we want to take a moment to thank all the incredible teachers and staff at Harrison who go above and beyond every day for our children. We also extend our gratitude to the PTA for organizing thoughtful gestures to show our appreciation throughout the week.

Our annual plant sale will take place this Friday, May 9. A big thank you to all the parents who have volunteered their time to help make this event successful. Please remember to send your child to school with cash—small bills are especially helpful.

The PTA is also looking to fill open Executive Board positions for the 2025–2026 school year. If you're interested in serving on the board, please submit your interest by May 12 using the following link:

Our third graders had a successful start to NJSLA testing last week, and testing will continue in the coming weeks for students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Please ensure your children bring a fully charged device to school each day, maintain regular routines, and get a good night’s sleep to help them do their best.

Finally, this Thursday at 6:30 PM, I will host a brief Google Meet session to discuss student transitions and strategies for success. After speaking with our SEPAC representatives, we felt it would be valuable to open this conversation to all families. The meeting will be in a lecture format and will address common transitions we observe at Harrison across grade levels, along with suggestions for supporting them. The meeting link will be shared on Wednesday.
