    The Livingston Education Foundation's Livingston High School Alumni Hall of Fame Reception to be held Friday, October 18, 2013, will honor four alumni.
     
     
     Hannah August Hannah August - Class of 2001

    She has served as Press Secretary to First Lady Michelle Obama since May 2011. Previously, she served as Press Secretary to Attorney General Eric Holder, acting as spokeswoman for press communications in high profile cases such as BP oil spill and the department’s lawsuit against the state of Arizona related to immigration law. Prior to joining the Administration, she was the Deputy Communications Director at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee during the 2008 cycle. She also served as Deputy Press Secretary for Senator Bob Menendez. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2005 with a major of International Relations.

     
     Chris Christie Honorable Governor Chris Christie - Class of 1980

    Born in Newark and raised in Livingston he has lived in New Jersey his entire life except to attend college at the University of Delaware. He attended Seton Hall University School of Law and then joined a Cranford law firm where he was soon named a partner. He was elected a Freeholder in Morris County, and served as Director of the Board in 1997. He was named U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey in 2002. As the chief federal law enforcement officer in New Jersey, he earned praise from leaders and drew national attention for his efforts in battling political corruption, corporate crime, human trafficking, gangs, terrorism and polluter. He led a widely acclaimed charge against public corruption. One of his finest moments was when he led the team that thwarted terrorists' plans to attack our military men and women at Fort Dix. He left the U.S. Attorney's office on December 1, 2008 and was sworn in as New Jersey’s 55th Governor on January 19, 2010.

     
     Nikki James Nikki M. James - Class of 1999

    She is an award-winning actress known for her OFF-BROADWAY, BROADWAY and television performances. She booked her first Broadway show, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer while attending NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Musical Theatre program. She played the starring ingénue role in House of Flowers at New York City Center's Encore Series, was in the original casts for All Shook Up and Bernarda Alba at Lincoln Center Theatre. She was then cast as Dorothy in the production of The Wiz at La Jolla Playhouse for which she won the 2006 Craig Noel Award for Theatrical Excellence. She would next appear Off-Broadway in Walmartopia. In 2008, she played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and starred opposite Christopher Plummer as Cleopatra in Shaw's Caesar and Cleopatra at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival. She continues to perform in and was awarded the TONY Award for Featured Actress in a Musical in 2011 for Book of Mormon at the Eugene O'Neill Theater. Her television credits included Guest Leads on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, The Jury, Third Watch and 30Rock and has worked with Spike Lee on a PSA for the United Negro College Fund. She has two films that are soon to be released: The film version of the musical “Lucky Stiff” starring alongside Jason Alexander and “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” starring James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain.

     
     Ronnie Konner Ronnie Konner - Class of 1966

    She is a World Language teacher at Riker Hill and Burnet Hill Elementary Schools teaching Spanish to students in grades K-5. Her school and community service experience is broad having participated in several H.S.A.’s, Livingston P-T Council and as a founder of LEF. She was a member of and served as President and Vice President of the Livingston Board of Education. She has served on the LPS Strategic Planning Committee and Technology Committee, the Multicultural Committees at Riker Hill, Burnet Hill and Hillside. She served on the Montclair State University Network for Educational Renewal – Geraldine R. Dodge Grant. She currently serves on the Intercambio Escolar – Sister School Exchange Riker Hill and Burnet Hill Schools with Escuela Primaria Gregorio Cruz y Rodriguez, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico since 2001. She has and continues to serve on the National Council of Jewish Women since 1975. When you speak to her about her current projects, her students and the classroom, you are swept into an excitement and love for learning as though you were a part of the activity yourself.
